Refund policy
Last Updated: August 16, 2026
At Origin Sculpture, every artwork is handled with careful attention to design, craftsmanship, materials, packaging, and delivery.
Because many of our sculptures are handcrafted, made to order, or produced according to customer-approved specifications, return and cancellation eligibility depends on the type of product and the stage of the order.
Please review this policy before placing an order or approving a custom sculpture design. Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. Inspecting Your Sculpture at Delivery
Please inspect the shipping crate and sculpture carefully when the order is delivered.
Whenever possible:
- Check the crate for visible impact, punctures, crushing, water exposure, or other damage;
- Note any visible damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing;
- Photograph the crate from all sides before opening it;
- Photograph the sculpture while it is still inside the original packaging;
- Retain the crate, protective materials, labels, and delivery documents; and
- Avoid installation, repair, or alteration until the condition has been documented.
If the driver does not allow a complete internal inspection, note any visible external damage on the delivery receipt and photograph the unopened crate.
Signing a delivery receipt without noting visible damage may affect a claim with the carrier, but it does not eliminate rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
2. Shipping Damage, Defects, or Incorrect Orders
Contact Origin Sculpture promptly if your sculpture:
- Arrives damaged;
- Contains a suspected manufacturing or structural defect;
- Is materially different from the approved drawing or written specifications; or
- Is not the product you ordered.
Visible or concealed shipping damage should be reported within 3 business days after delivery. Prompt reporting allows us to preserve evidence and coordinate with the carrier, freight provider, or insurer.
A delayed report may affect our ability to pursue a transportation claim, but it does not limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Send your request to:
Email: info@originsculpture.com
Do not return, install, repair, refinish, discard, or relocate the sculpture unless instructed by Origin Sculpture.
3. Information Required for a Claim
Please provide:
- Your full name;
- Order or quotation number;
- Delivery date;
- A description of the issue;
- Photographs of the entire sculpture;
- Close-up photographs or videos of the affected area;
- Photographs of all sides of the shipping crate;
- Photographs of the internal protective packaging;
- A copy or photograph of the delivery receipt;
- Photographs of the base, anchoring, plumbing, or installation area when relevant; and
- Any other information reasonably requested for assessment.
For shipping damage, please keep all original packaging until the claim has been reviewed. Discarding the crate or packaging may prevent the carrier or insurer from completing an inspection.
4. Assessment and Resolution
Origin Sculpture will review the photographs, approved drawings, order specifications, packaging records, delivery information, and other relevant evidence.
Depending on the nature of the issue, we may request:
- Additional photographs, measurements, or videos;
- A remote video inspection;
- An assessment by a qualified local professional;
- Return of an affected component; or
- Inspection of the complete sculpture.
If a shipping error, covered manufacturing defect, or material nonconformity is confirmed, the appropriate resolution may include:
- Technical or maintenance guidance;
- Repair materials;
- Replacement parts;
- Local repair or refinishing;
- Replacement of the affected component;
- Replacement of the sculpture where repair is not reasonably practical;
- A partial refund; or
- A full refund where required by applicable law or where no other reasonable remedy is available.
The appropriate resolution will depend on the nature, severity, location, repairability, and condition of the sculpture.
Warranty-related issues arising after delivery are also governed by our Limited Warranty Policy.
5. Handcrafted Artwork and Natural Material Characteristics
Every Origin Sculpture artwork is individually handcrafted or custom-fabricated. Minor variations are inherent in artistic production and do not make the sculpture defective.
Normal variations may include differences in:
- Color and tonal balance;
- Surface texture;
- Casting and hand-finished details;
- Dimensions and symmetry;
- Weld finishing, polishing, or brush direction;
- Patina and oxidation;
- Marble or natural stone veining;
- Mineral distribution, pores, and natural fissures; and
- Appearance under different lighting or environmental conditions.
Bronze patina—including gradual darkening, oxidation, or the development of green tones—is a natural response between bronze and its environment. Natural patina development is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Product photographs, color samples, renderings, and digital mockups are provided as visual references. Lighting, screen settings, photography, natural materials, and hand finishing may cause the completed sculpture to appear slightly different.
Minor handcrafted or natural material variations do not qualify for a return, refund, replacement, or warranty claim. This exclusion does not apply to a verified structural defect, manufacturing defect, shipping error, or material departure from the approved specifications.
6. Products That Are Not Eligible for Ordinary Return
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the following products are not eligible for return because of a change of mind or personal preference:
- Fully custom sculpture designs;
- Portrait or personalized sculptures;
- Sculptures made to customer-supplied dimensions;
- Products manufactured according to approved CAD or 3D drawings;
- Custom finishes, colors, patinas, inscriptions, or logos;
- Custom bases, pedestals, anchoring systems, or fountain configurations;
- Sculptures altered from a standard catalog design;
- Products already installed, modified, repaired, refinished, or damaged after delivery;
- Products that have been used or exposed outdoors;
- Products that are no longer in resalable condition;
- Products without the original professional packaging or wooden crate;
- Products returned without prior authorization; and
- Products showing only normal handcrafted variation, weathering, oxidation, patina, or natural aging.
A product being non-returnable for personal-preference reasons does not prevent the customer from reporting genuine shipping damage, a verified defect, or an incorrect order.
7. Eligible Standard Product Returns
A standard catalog product may be considered for return only if Origin Sculpture confirms that:
- The product was not customized or personalized;
- It was not produced according to customer-specific dimensions or drawings;
- It has not been installed, used, modified, damaged, or exposed outdoors;
- It remains in as-new and resalable condition;
- The original crate and protective packaging are available;
- A return request is submitted within 15 days after delivery; and
- Written return authorization is issued before shipment.
Submitting a request does not automatically guarantee that the return will be approved.
Due to the size, weight, value, and specialized packaging requirements of sculpture, Origin Sculpture must confirm the return address, carrier, insurance, packaging, and handling instructions before any item is shipped.
8. Return Authorization
All returns require prior written authorization from Origin Sculpture.
If a return is approved, we will provide:
- A return authorization;
- The correct return address;
- Packaging requirements;
- Shipping and insurance instructions; and
- Any applicable fees or deductions.
Returns sent without authorization, delivered to an incorrect address, shipped without adequate insurance, or packaged contrary to our instructions may be refused.
Origin Sculpture is not responsible for damage or loss caused by unauthorized or improperly arranged return transportation.
9. Return Shipping Costs
If a return is approved because of a confirmed Origin Sculpture error, covered manufacturing defect, or qualifying shipping damage, Origin Sculpture will arrange or cover the reasonable return, repair, or replacement transportation approved in writing.
For an approved return unrelated to product quality:
- The customer is responsible for return shipping;
- The shipment must be appropriately crated and insured;
- The customer is responsible for arranging suitable handling equipment;
- Original outbound shipping costs are non-refundable unless required by law;
- Expedited shipping charges are non-refundable;
- Unrecoverable duties, taxes, customs, brokerage, storage, or handling costs may be deducted; and
- Any loss or damage during customer-arranged return transportation remains the customer’s responsibility.
Return shipping for a large sculpture can be substantial. No return should be arranged until Origin Sculpture confirms the shipping method and destination in writing.
10. Restocking Fee
Approved non-defective returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
The restocking fee helps cover the specialized inspection, receiving, handling, inventory, and resale preparation associated with large handcrafted sculptures.
The restocking fee does not apply when the return is caused by:
- A verified manufacturing defect;
- A material departure from the approved specifications;
- An incorrect product sent by Origin Sculpture; or
- Qualifying shipping damage for which Origin Sculpture is responsible.
11. Condition Deductions
Returned products must arrive in the condition approved for return.
Reasonable costs may be deducted from an otherwise eligible refund when the returned sculpture requires:
- Cleaning;
- Repair;
- Refinishing;
- Restoration;
- Replacement packaging;
- A new wooden crate;
- Replacement of missing components; or
- Correction of damage occurring after delivery or during customer-arranged return shipping.
The 20% restocking fee and any additional condition deductions serve different purposes. Any additional deduction will reflect the reasonable cost associated with the product’s actual condition.
A return may be refused if the sculpture is materially damaged, incomplete, altered, improperly packaged, or no longer reasonably resalable.
These deductions do not apply to verified defects or damage for which Origin Sculpture is legally responsible.
12. Refund Amount
For an approved non-defective return, the refund may be calculated by deducting, where applicable:
- The 20% restocking fee;
- Original outbound shipping costs;
- Return shipping arranged or advanced by Origin Sculpture;
- Expedited delivery charges;
- Unrecoverable customs, duties, brokerage, storage, or handling charges;
- Repair, cleaning, restoration, or repackaging costs; and
- Other deductions disclosed and permitted by applicable law.
Any promotional discount applied to the original order will be reflected in the refund calculation.
Refunds will not exceed the amount actually paid for the returned product.
13. Refund Processing
Refunds are issued only after:
- The return has been received;
- The product and packaging have been inspected;
- Return eligibility has been confirmed; and
- Applicable deductions have been calculated.
Once the refund is approved, Origin Sculpture will generally initiate it to the original payment method within 7 business days, unless applicable law requires a shorter period.
Banks, card issuers, PayPal, and other payment providers may require additional time to post the refund to your account. Currency-conversion differences and financial-institution fees are controlled by the applicable provider and may not be refundable.
For bank-transfer orders, we may request verified account information through a secure method before issuing the refund.
14. Order Cancellation
Cancellation eligibility depends on whether the order has entered design approval, material preparation, fabrication, or shipping.
Please submit a cancellation request as soon as possible to:
Email: info@originsculpture.com
A cancellation request is not effective until Origin Sculpture confirms it in writing.
Before Final Drawing Approval
An order may generally be cancelled for a full refund before the final CAD or 3D drawing has been approved and before custom production work has begun.
Any separately disclosed and completed design, engineering, sampling, or third-party service fee may remain non-refundable where permitted by law.
After Final Drawing Approval but Before Fabrication
Once the final drawing or written specifications have been approved, material allocation, production planning, modeling, engineering, or preparation may begin.
A cancellation requested at this stage is subject to a 15% cancellation fee.
After Production Has Begun
If fabrication, casting, carving, mold production, welding, finishing, or other manufacturing work has begun, an approved cancellation is subject to a minimum 30% cancellation charge.
Additional documented, non-recoverable costs may apply when they exceed the minimum cancellation charge, including:
- Completed design or engineering work;
- Custom molds or models;
- Materials already purchased or processed;
- Fabrication already completed;
- Custom components;
- Third-party services; and
- Work that cannot reasonably be reused.
Origin Sculpture will provide the applicable cancellation calculation before confirming the cancellation where reasonably practical.
Substantially Completed or Shipped Orders
An order cannot ordinarily be cancelled once:
- The sculpture is substantially completed;
- Final finishing or packaging has begun;
- The shipping crate has been completed for that specific sculpture;
- The order has been transferred to a freight provider; or
- The order has been shipped.
Any exception will be considered individually and may be subject to the full non-recoverable cost of the project.
This section does not limit cancellation or refund rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Customer Changes Are Not Cancellations
A request to change the design, dimensions, material, finish, base, inscription, installation system, or delivery requirements after approval is treated as a project modification rather than a cancellation.
Changes may result in:
- Additional design fees;
- Increased production costs;
- Replacement of completed work;
- A revised quotation; and
- An extended production and delivery schedule.
Revised work will proceed after the updated specifications, costs, and payment requirements have been confirmed.
16. Delayed Orders
The estimated standard production and delivery period is approximately 9–12 weeks after final drawing approval.
If an order is delayed, Origin Sculpture will provide available updates and work toward a reasonable solution appropriate to the circumstances.
Where applicable law requires customer consent to a revised shipping date or provides a cancellation right because of a delay, Origin Sculpture will provide the required notice and options.
17. Third-Party Purchases
This policy applies only to orders purchased directly through the Origin Sculpture website or directly invoiced by Origin Sculpture.
Orders purchased through a marketplace, distributor, dealer, designer, or retail partner are generally governed by the return and cancellation policy of the original point of purchase, except where applicable law or a separate written agreement provides otherwise.
18. Relationship to Other Policies
This policy should be read together with our:
- Shipping & Delivery Policy
- Limited Warranty Policy
- Terms of Service
- Payment Methods
- Sculpture Care & Maintenance Guide
If an accepted project quotation or signed agreement contains return or cancellation terms that differ from this policy, the project-specific written terms will control to the extent permitted by applicable law.
